DCDR, is dedicated to the well-being of over 150 dogs spread across three sanctuaries in the Dominican Republic. Many of these dogs have been rescued from dire circumstances, and without DCDR, their survival would have been unlikely. However, due to the limited availability of homes on the island, challenges in finding homes in North America, and the ongoing influx of animals in need, many of these dogs face the possibility of spending their lives in sanctuaries.

You can make a significant impact by becoming a monthly sponsor for just $30 USD (approximately $40 CAD). By doing so, you'll receive monthly updates on your sponsored dog and play a crucial role in their life as their personal hero. Your sponsorship not only provides essential support for food, shelter, and medical care but also ensures these dogs receive the love and attention they deserve. Join us in making their lives better, one sponsorship at a time.

Lenny - I was rescued by DCDR Luperon a year ago after being found tied to a tree, starving and left to die in a vacant lot with severe wounds. I’m patiently waiting for my forever family.

Hi! I'm Skip, will you be my sponsor?

I am four years old and was rescued by DCDR Las Terrenas when I was found with a badly injured leg after being hit by a car. I was left to suffer in the street with my leg bleeding and my bone protruding. Luckily a local woman contacted DCDR. I was rescued and taken to the vet where they had to amputate my rear left leg. I am fully recovered and am patiently waiting for my forever family.

Hi! I’m Blanquito. I am one year old and was rescued by DCDR Luperon after being found with a badly injured leg that needed to be amputated. I’m a friendly guy who gets along well with children, dogs, and cats. *** I am sponsored by Lacy Sebers***

Hi! I'm Paddy, will you be my sponsor?

I am two years old and was rescued by DCDR Las Terrenas. I was found in a box with my siblings outside of a children's summer camp. I have been waiting for a home that entire time without any interest which makes me very sad. I've put on my best smile hoping I can find a sponsor. My dream is to have a home of my own with a loving family.

Ozzy - I was rescued by DCDR in 2022 with his siblings. They were dumped in a box at the side of the road. They were all named after Rock Stars. ***Ozzy is Sponsored monthly thanks to Trisha McIntyre***

Hi! I'm Lawrence,

I was rescued by DCDR and am living at the Luperon Haven. One day I was taken to the vet by my owners to have my damaged leg amputated. Sadly, my owners never returned.

I'm told that I'm a sweet and loving boy that will probably be here forever because of my breed. Soon I will need a wheelchair to get around.

*** Lawrence has an anonymous monthly sponsor***

Olga has been waiting for a home since May 2019. Olga’s favorite things are belly rubs, chasing a ball, and playing frisbee. She’s a very active girl who would make a good jogging or hiking partner. She has a special talent of being able to jump very high so she needs a 6 ft. fenced yard. ***Katherine Hale has sponsored Olga***

Hi! I’m Monty. I am 4 years old and was brought to Coconut Hound Haven in November of 2021 with an open wound on my neck that was infected and full of screw worms. After I recovered from my injuries my family never came back to get me :-(. I am living a good life here at the sanctuary. ***I am sponsored by Kim Gilbert***

Hi! I'm Canela, will you be my sponsor?

I am four years old and was rescued by DCDR Punta Cana when I was found near a warehouse begging for food. The warehouse was closed for the Christmas holidays, and there was no one to feed me, so DCDR took me in.

Micky - was found unable to move his back legs. He now uses a wheelchair to zoom around and loves going for walks and playing with other dogs at the Haven. ***Micky is sponsored by Marissa Ionna***

Hi! I'm Donky, will you be my sponsor?

I'm a new tripod and was rescued by DCDR when I was found with a large tumor on my back leg. When my owners moved, they left me behind to fend for myself which I found very confusing. Since then, DCDR has been paying my vet bills to remove my tumor, amputate my leg, and give me chemotherapy. One day I hope to have a new home that will be forever.

Hola. We’re Didi and Delta, will you be our sponsor? We’ve had a pretty sad life as we were abandoned in a house with several other dogs, some who died. We were covered in fleas and ticks and were not socialized as pups so we probably are not adoptable. Luckily we have found a lifetime home at Coconut Hound Haven Luperon where we can live out our lives in a great environment.

Hi! I'm Ferrari,

I am three years old was rescued by DCDR Luperon when I was a small puppy. I am the last of my siblings to find a home, I've been waiting three years for a home. Black pets usually gave a harder time getting adopted but it's a mystery to me as to why. My fur is so sleek and shiny, like a Ferrari car! ***I am sponsored by Jaqueline Simons***
